NEW Sustainable Amsterdam Programs 2026

Dear Sustainable Amsterdam friends, colleagues and clients,
Happy Hollidays!
As 2025 comes to an end, I look back on an eventful year. I had the pleasure of leading nineteen study tours, six custom expert and training sessions, and one innovation scavenger hunt for groups from sixteen different countries. I really enjoy sharing Amsterdam’s sustainability experience and expertise with everyone.
If you’re interested in booking a study tour in 2026, you can check availability and make your booking here.
In addition to study tours, I’m excited to announce three new programs for 2026. You can read about them below.
Also in the new year, I will be teaching a course on “Building Sustainable Cities” for American undergraduate students in collaboration with CIEE. I will also continue supporting City of Amsterdam Spatial Planning & Sustainability Department with their international program. While it’s shaping up to be a busy year, I am happy to explore new projects and collaborations, so please feel free to reach out.
Best wishes for a sustainable New Year, and I look forward to connecting in 2026.
Warmly,
Cornelia

NEW Sustainable Amsterdam Programs 2026
1. Dutch Sustainability DNA – Rijksmuseum Tour
What can Dutch masters teach us about sustainability?
This is a program I’ve been wanting to offer for a few years. During this 1hour, 7-stop tour of the Rijksmuseum, we explore how paintings by Dutch masters reveal insights about the Netherlands’ historic relationship with water, innovation, trade and social dilemmas.
For now these tours are available only on request. Please send an email with brief explanation about your group and desired program date to cornelia@sustainableamsterdam.com.
2. Urban Innovation Masterclasses
Hands-on, interactive deep dives into urban innovation & sustainability in Amsterdam
I am launching a new Urban Innovation Masterclass that builds on my extensive experience hosting expert sessions and deep dives for Amsterdam Smart City and other clients. Each ~2.5hour session includes an expert presentation, an interactive component and a short tour of either Marineterrein or Science Park innovation district. Choose one of these main themes or reach out to inquire about a custom program:
- Urban innovation districts & ecosystems
- Responsible digitalization & urban AI
- Smart sustainable cities – the Amsterdam approach
For now these sessions are available only on request. Please send an email with brief explanation about your group’s interests and desired program date to cornelia@sustainableamsterdam.com.
3. Sustainable Cities Summer School (SCSS) — 26-30 August
